Happy Fall Fashion Friends,
Fall 2021 is in full swing at Patryka Designs and we are excited to share with you some of our favourites and fashion trends for the season. Cooler days and leaves falling mean it is time for you to be looking Fall Fashion fabulous! We have such an amazing west coast inspired collection available this Fall; it was difficult to write about just a few of the highlights and our favs. Canadian brands such as Tribal, FDJ, Neon Buddha, and Dex are complimented by international brands Jag, Soya Concept, and Indi and Cold...to show off the styles and vibes for this season, but we have so many high-quality brands available to choose from! Fabulous styles for all our fabulous Fashion Friends. This Fall, jeans are making their triumphant return to our wardrobes, cozy sweaters are a must have for any Fall, or be trendy and stylish in one if our fun shackets! So many options!
After almost two years of wearing loungewear, jeans are making a big comeback! We get asked a lot about what jeans are "in style" and truthfully there is no right answer, other than a jean that fits you well and feels fabulous on. Our top three brands of jeans are FDJ, Jag, and Tribal and all offer a variety of styles, fit and colour washes.
If you missed our FDJ fit clinic in September, one of the new jeans was the Christina slim ankle jean with the rough hem. It is made from over 30% recycled fibers; this jean isn’t just fun and fashionable for you to wear —it’s also easy on the Earth! With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, it is also important to know that FDJ values the importance of giving back to local communities and are especially dedicated in funding initiatives that raise awareness and help victims in the fight against Breast Cancer. A portion of every jean sold is donated to national, regional, and local Breast Cancer organizations throughout North America.
Jag continues to be a favourite with all of us. While the Nora skinny is still going strong, the Ruby straight leg has been gaining popularity. We have this jean in two washes, night breeze for a dressy look and thorne blue for a casual everyday look. A fabulous midrise jean with interior elastic at the waist that holds you in, a contoured, slightly narrower waistband that prevents gapping and a design that perfectly flatters and lifts your bum. JAG Jeans encourages body positivity, self-love, and confidence throughout the lives of every woman who wears their jeans. Tribal has one of the best jeans for this season and we are already on our second shipment of them! The Audrey jegging is a jegging that looks like a real jean! Pair it with your favourite sneakers or low boot to create a perfect base for a fabulous day or night outfit. This jean has Tribal's new ICON fit, which is defined as a midrise pull-on super soft stretchy jegging with five pockets, real belt loops, and a fake front fly. A bonus is a tummy panel for extra control! Founded in 1971 in Montreal, Canada, Tribal began as a women’s pants separates brand. Over the past 50 years, the brand has evolved into a fully merchandised lifestyle collection. Offering affordable seasonal assortments which emphasize comfort and fit, their clothes are not just about looking good, they're also about feeling good.
Warm and cozy sweaters are a must have for every Fall wardrobe. We have so many fabulous sweaters to choose from this season, but we are highlighting these sweaters from Tribal, Indi and Cold, and Neon Buddha. Pairing these with your favourite, jeans, or layering under a vest, just add boots and you are ready to go. Enjoy a Fall walk with a friend, be cozy on the couch reading a book, or sipping a latte at your favourite coffee place… sweaters are the perfect choice.
This sweater from Tribal has been a favourite in many colour options. We just restocked the grey and rust combo, so grab it quick before it has gone again. With its ribbed cuffs and contrasting color blocks, this singular turtleneck sweater will help you stand out in a crowd – in the best way possible. Pair it with striped pants for a bold, daring look.
For all our Fashion Friends who love wool, this sweater from Indi and Cold is an excellent choice. In soft feminine pastels, this striped sweater offers the option of a different colour palette for Fall that has been trending. As one of our unique European lines, Indi and Cold is the result of many years of experience and adventures in the fashion industry. The brand was born in 2012 after the merger of Indiwoman and Cold Alaska. This was when Cristina Villar, Gonzalo's wife, joined the team as its third member. After a lengthy career in the world of fashion, she came on board as the brand's Creative Director. The brand is still just one big family, despite today having a team of over 100 people, 98% being women.
The classic cable knit sweater got a sporty upgrade from Neon Buddha! This pullover features a cozy cable chic knit in the front, with stretch cotton sleeves that give this a lightweight feel to carry across all four seasons with you. The side seam zippers give you a customizable look-unzip them to show off a layer underneath, or to create a looser, more relaxed silhouette. Pure & Co has been celebrating life’s rich craft of hand knitting every season since our first collection in 1998.
The must have fashion trend for Fall 2021 is the shacket! What is a shacket you ask? The shacket is indeed a combination shirt and jacket—that can be worn as both. Apologies to the denim jacket, but it is currently our favourite fall outerwear piece. The perfect jacket for our west coast lifestyle. We have some fashion friends who have started a shacket collection...buying multiple ones to become their wardrobe staple for Fall 2021. We have seen all our major brands do their own shacket, so here is just a few examples!
FDJ offers an opportunity to step into this trend gently, with a fitted and classic plaid shacket. Rustic meets pretty in our classic glen plaid shacket. Perfect for crisp Autumn walks and cozying up by the fire, this versatile basic is Fall dressing at its best.
Black Tape by Dex offers a fun and feminine twist on the shacket, by using creams and pinks to make their shacket a unique addition to your shacket collection. Pair it with your favourite jeans and you're ready to go. Founded in Montreal in 1991, Dex’s company mission is for style to be affordable and fun.
Soya Concept offers its own twist on the shacket trend. This long shacket is so versatile. It can be worn open as a shacket or buttoned up and belted it becomes a dress! We love its rich fall tones! This shacket also comes in a shorter version! The shacket is designed in a checkered pattern and has nice details such as chest pockets, button closure as well as a classic collar. Style it with a pair of jeans and nice boots.
